Thanks Dale, on your advice, I went to the scrap metal yard early this morning to try and purchase this machine, basically save it from being made into more Hyundai's. No joy, I'm afraid.

I arrived only to find it had been forked into a bin and broken in two during the process. I was absolutely gutted.
I did climb into the bin and manage to pull some pieces of the machine as souvenirs. Seeing that machine in the scrap bin, just broke my heart.
They charged me one dollar per kilo for the pieces. I bought 8 kilo's in all and would have taken more handles off, but the truck came to pick the bin up so I had to go.

This is such a far cry from a machine 10 years ago that could fetch up to 3 thousand dollars, what has become of industry?
I'm sorry guys, I'm having a little process in my mind of Sadness, Grief, Anger, Resentment, it upset me to see this beautiful machine just trashed and to reflect on all the machines that I had used in my time as a Carpenter and Joiner, looking back on a golden time...
Does any one value good work any more?

Just read this and I insisted we pull over to the side of the road for a minutes silence.

About the only positive thing I can say, is at least the scrap metal yard allowed you to purchase some pieces. When looking for handles for the Stenner, most metal yards in Newcastle won't even sell to the public anymore, one guy told me he sees a few handles similar to what I was looking for per week on big metal lathes, but was not allowed to sell them.

Pat, perhaps we have ourselves to blame these days, offering just enough for these machines that the scrap man gets a look in.
Thanks for your thoughts guys, I know I should be moving on but, before I do, I just thought I would show the catalogue cut out of interest,
