Robt. Sorby saw 3 crowns
Hi all, I spotted the handle to this saw among a pile of junk, and thought I'd take a gamble, very dissapointed as it is only half a saw but intersting in its own right, it is a Robt Sorby Sheffield with 3 crowns but I cannot find a Kangeroo assuming it had one, and also a blank medallion which I have no reason to believe is not original, any thoughts on this one?

My; What big teeth you have!
I think it was before the kangaroo logo. Looks an old style of handle. Some of the saw experts should have more info.
Regards
John

Thanks John I'm hoping someone may know a little something about the time period, among the "junk" was a nice little Tyzack & Turner No.13(elephant brand) 12inch backsaw which sort of made up for the disappointment on the other.

Robt Sorby started c 1830. Barley Ref illustrations of marks suggests the kangaroo was used from before 1870. The handle suggests early, so around 1850 is my guess
