Stanley 112 plane
20190910_155654.jpg
Just finished getting this ready to work. New front knob (jarrah, almost matches rosewood) and replaced missing lock nut (retapped depth adjuster). Blade not original either but works (shavings from beech offcut). Really happy with result (purists may not be but my goal is to use my tools, not just collect them)

Looks great! Nice to see an old tool back in business.
You say the blade is not original. What is it then or where is it from? I have a 12 1/2 I also want to put back to usable state.
Cheers

Thanks. Not sure about history of blade. It was the first scraper I bought years ago and is thicker than some Veritas ones purchased more recently. I chose as much for its width, 65mm, which almost fills the 73mm mouth of the plane. Serendipitous?
