Default Timber threading Tap Handle Question

Just wondering if anyone knows what the T-Handle for timber threading taps looked like?

this is the style I am thinking of. I would imagine they were like the old stile auger T-handles...but I haven’t been able to locate a pic on the net.

yes, turned wooden T handles are traditional. Here's some of mine (one tap has a nut screwed onto the tang, but the others seem to be just jammed into the wooden handle).

Thanks kwigly...love that small one on the right... is that 1/4” ? I have seen these turned handles...though I was thinking the big taps may have had something more substantial. The largest taps I have are 1 7/8”. Which would take a bit screwing through timber I would imagine. The 1 1/2” tap has markings that suggest it had a screw tightened against the tang at some point in its life... I did buy a handle that has a metal hub and 2 turned handles that screw into it in the hope that it may have been suitable but I think it may have been an early metal tap handle. Anyway it’s part of the challenge of old tools.

Gaza, My small threader is 7/16", (suitable for a 3/8" threaded rod, with clearance). Your metal hub handle sounds as if it will work if the handles are a suitable length for you.
Below is a picture of a bigger 20" handle (on a 1-1/2" nose drill). It has a metal reinforcing plate attached to the underside, with a square hole in the plate to accept the square shank of the drill. So if you want to experiment with turned wooden handles I'm sure you could make them work too.
[I have a wooden handle off an old push lawnmower, that I've saved "in case I found a use for it", which I'm now thinking might make a ready handle for an orphan threader,... if I find an orphan threader ]

This is the tap Handle that I bought.

Its a James Swan Improved Tap Holder From the early 1900's. It doesn't seem to hold any of the wood taps that I have and I don't have any augers that would fit such a large square hole either.... The catalogue shows they came with a smaller holder which I think I can make once I get my metal lathe up and going.
