    Default Unnamed chisel morticer

Anyone know who manufactured this morticer. Doesn't have a name on it anywhere. The electric motor is made in England so I am guessing Australian or English. The casting is finished off well, someone put a bit of love into making it but didn't put his name on it.

It's very similar to my Wolfenden chain mortiser. The table and wheels are identical, and the cast frame is very similar although mine has its motor bolted to the side of machine. Cheers Greg

    Default Mortiser

G'day Tony, here are some pics. It's in bits and pieces now,as I'm restoring it. Mine is missing the chisel attachment, but I'm happy to just use it as a chain mortiser. Cheers Greg

    Hi Tony.
I don't know ... we have to call on Magic Matty.

    He's been working apparently. I said I didn't approve.

Greg - did you notice that Tony's motor is 1410rpm

    Cheers,
    Paul.

G'day Paul, I did notice the motor rpm, and was checking out the pulley sizes as well. I'm going to run mine at about 3400rpm at the drive sprocket, and will see how it goes, and if not good,I'll alter my pullleys. I'm hoping to get a coat of paint on it over the weekend, and then assemble it. It should be finished in a couple of weeks, and I'll post some pics. Hope all is good with you. Cheers Greg
