Vice Record 53 Green Made in England
Hi, This week I bought a load of old tools of a former antique dealer. The vice didn't interest me so much until he made the price too interesting. Now it is far heavier than my current vices. I'm interested to know the history, age and how to clean and care for it.
To start I have just sprayed RP-7. I was thinking maybe some petrol to clean off the grease (who am I kidding it's bone dry).
Ok, so a drill or grinder with those plastic type disk wheels.
Maybe then a brass disk and followed by coarse steel wool.
I would actually like to respect and keep the old green paint intact.
I was then thinking maybe Lanolin to the bare surfaces and lashings of grease on the thread and bearing parts.
I really have no idea but appreciate all and any comments.
