Looks to have been time well spent, Thanks for sharing.

I had not realized the teeth were taking a pounding and that there was a little screw that only had to be undone and it would have all just slid apart nicely . I had to walk away from it for a while and wait for a Black mood to lift. I will explain more about this a bit later, going out for dinner

I seem to be getting caught out by tapered pins, got caught out twice on the Stenner ABM Table saw. Mucked around trying to remove a pin holding a gear to the shaft, I got frustrated and had to take a break, when I returned, I realised it was a tapered pin and I was tapping from the wrong side. Later when removing the gearbox assembly, I had unbolted the 4 bolts holding it to the body, no matter what I did it wouldn't shift, and I was really afraid of cracking the cast, eventually on close examination I noticed 2 locating tapered pins hidden below paint. The good thing about making these types of mistakes, is you get to know your machine. The next thing I went to get off had locating tapered pins also.

    cheers,

Your right there Camo . I once fitted up new cast iron brake cylinders to a light truck I was doing up, learning as I was going , over tightened the brake line going into it and stripped the thread out of the new cylinder, I thought from that day on that I would remember how weak cast iron is , but no no , had to teach myself a second time didn't I

    Default AGS fence parts needed.

    Rob,
Do you still have the bits from the original AGS fence?
I have one of the Sydney made 10 inch AGS saws and need the front and rear cast pieces to get the fence operational.
Getting it together to sell as I have picked up a 12 inch BRT to replace it.
Have a cast iron right hand extension table wanting a home and the BRT sliding table bits.
Not enough room in my woodwork area to use either.
I use a Hammond glider for docking small stuff.
I have mate who is chasing a 12inch BGS does anyone know of any?

    H.
I packed it all away under the building I work in H ,and I wont be going back that way for a few weeks , because I'm on holiday . I don't think I would part with them though , I like to know that I have the as much as possible of the complete saw as it was originally, and that if I need to I can fix it up and use it, or if I had to sell my saw I can put in the add " comes with original fence , motor mount and motor ."

I will have a look at what I have and consider it again when I see it though .

I am looking for one of the black plastic knobs that locks the tilt wheel / shaft where you want it to stay, if any one knows of one ,
I have the remains of the threaded sleeve that sat in the cast plastic and we tighten using that. I was thinking of making a mould with plasticine and casting some black 2 pack glue around it .

Thanks for the detailed photos! I'm thinking of picking up one of these. I have a unisaw already but the AGS 10 is such a great looking saw.

Would you mind telling me the dimensions of the table top? Is it 27" deep by any chance? I have my eye on a router extension wing that uses the 27" depth...
