Wadkin Lathe, Renniks Router, Spindle Moulder table saw help needed
Hoping someone can help.
I have inherited some machines that we need to sell as they are in storage, but I don't know much about them or their value.
All are located in Northern Sydney. I believe they were all working when they went into storage but cannot be sure.
Wadkin Bursgreen 3 Phase Lathe
The Renniks Router 3 phase
Charles and Hunting Spindle Shaper 3 phase
Durden 3 phase table saw
Dewalt 7790 Sliding cut off saw. Single phase
Hafco 15" -T380A Planer single phase
I've attached photos of all and any info on what these might be worth would be greatly appreciated. Of course offers to purchase are also welcome.
Thanks
Warren

Hi Warren,
Welcome to the forum, and sorry for your loss.
Unfortunately value is a hard question to answer, especially with 3 phase machines these days, and worse still when it is not possible to check condition. This is not to say that what you have does not have a value, and I am sure there is a buyer for every machine you have, just that it might be hard to pin down a direct answer to that question.
Renniks is often better known for refurbishing machines, so I was about to ask you to check for another label, but after checking my catalogue it is indeed a Renniks machine
Feel free to share this with the new buyer if they are interested.
Cheers,
Camo

Hi Warren. I am interested in the lathe. Are there any faceplates or other bits that fit the lathe? I assume it is located in Brisbane which is not ideal for me but may be able to arrange something. As for value, suggest you look at other Wadkin Bursgreen machines that have been advertised on the forum and ebay etc - it will be difficult to find a lathe sale to compare it with.
Thanks Scott

Scott,
You must be having me followed. I have been busy with some treatment in Sydney, and have been meaning to post for a few weeks now, I set aside today to post on this thread, but you have beaten me to it.
After Henry's arm twisting (he is an enabler), I ended up having a look at the lathe and purchased it. If it's any consolation there were no face plates, but from past experience usually these show up for sale also missing the banjo's and the cross slide was a special order and I haven't seen many with that for sale in Australia.
From what I could see, this machine was the worst as far as condition (probably as it was closest to the door), but they were understanding of the risks I was taking (regarding would the motor work, would the rust on the beds have pitted the metal, etc), and they were extremely fair on price, if I could have been more certain about condition at the time, then I certainly would have paid more.
The machines, if not already sold are near Hornsby NSW, and Warren's brother-in-law met me at the storage unit (nice guy, I am terrible with names and have forgotten his name). The storage unit has a forklift, but they are not there on Sundays, so loading shouldn't be a problem. Fortunately Warren's Brother-in-Law is a big bloke so loading was not an issue.
if anyone is interested in any of the other machine, and they are still available, then it is definitely worth a look. There not going to be plug and play (they will need some work), but I have already stripped most of the lathe down, including the motor, and I don't think there is anything wrong with it that can't be fixed and most of the rust was purely surface and the bed had no pitting.
i did take some more photos when I was there, but at the moment I don't have the internet data to load them.
Warren,
I was going to send your brother-in-law a link to the Market Place section of this forum (he did email me, but I don't have his details handy). It might be a good idea if they haven't sold to post them for sale (use the below link)

If my circumstances were different at the moment, I probably would have made you an offer for the lot, like I said, they will all probably need some work, but they have obviously been just stored for a while and not used (I'm sure they probably were all in use before they went into storage)
cheers,
Camo

Thanks Camo. Hope it works out well for you. I Have been thinking about chasing a BZL and swapping out my Woodfast. Nothing wrong with them but I have I mostly Wadkin machines - you know how it is.
If you manage to find another one please keep me in mind.
Cheers Scott.

Hi Scott,
I had to have it for the cross slide. I will do a post when I get a bit further through it, and get some time.
Would love to see your Wadkins, I am a bit crazy for Stenners, but I am a Wadkin and Bursgreen fan too. This sub forum has been a bit slow lately on the bigger machines, I think there are a lot that don't post because they are not not bright and shinny, but I like to see them in there work cloths too.
Cheers,
Camo
