    Default The Wellcome Saw

This is the Wellcome saw that was used in part of our workshop by the previous owners probably from the late 1940s onwards. I think they were made in South Melbourne , the label says Wellcome Products.

The picture on the left is the ebay one . The one on the right is the one I took the fence off for my Wadkin.

This saw had plenty of grunt but the rise and fall was clunky , no tilting arbor which is very limiting and no dust extraction

I have seen three around Melbourne . Tony in my other thread said his Dad had one and he had seen another . And there is what looks to be one on ebay now . any one know any thing about them ? or seen any more.

I keep dreaming up ideas for a use for the remaining parts to the one we have . one idea was a belt driven shaft that takes a router chuck on the end , basically a small spindle moulder with speed control. ??

Not sure if this is any help, but seems to have some details. Item is no longer available, so advert does not show up when you click on it (sounds like the seller had some knowledge though).

What roughly are the dimensions of the cabinet, Rob?

    Hi Paul,

I would think with a guess the top is roughly 550 wide x 650 deep .
Height I'm not sure either, but would guess 850 mm

    Rob
