    Default Cat clock...

Not quite what you might be thinking. I work for a company that buys and sells Caterpillar Earthmoving gear, including wrecking. On the wall was an old clock (bit of MDF with a transport company ad on the front and a mechanism on the back) was starting to die. So I had a look around in some of the hundreds of used parts crates to try and find something interesting. I came accross some old valve covers/rocker covers that we had a few of.

A bit of a wash, a sandblast, and a lick of paint.

A hole drilled, and a mechanism from our lovely sponsor Janine at Let's Make Time Clock Co., and viola... a new clock for the boys out the back...

Now I know it's not timber... but it's my first.

Now I'm on the lookout for some other things to put mechanisms into. I have some hubcaps in the shed...

    Hey Yonnee,

You could have made a wooden Plub for the Oil Filler hole and did a clock in that,

Stiil a good looking thing for the workshop though.

    Thanks Hazza.
I had thought about cutting the bracing out and fitting a thermometer insert in that hole...

    I still could...

    what a great idea...

I first thought that someone had finally found a use for cats
I try and do new things twice.. the first time to see if I can do it.. the second time to see if I like it
