Is that a 'cut & paste' overlap problem with the No. 3 segment?

To be honest I do not know how or when it happened, Best thought is when I made the tabs all 250 of them this got caught up then ??? But all has been fixed.
some of the fixes so far
put numbers on each of the panel this will be helpful with the instruction.
made a connector for the hour hand to gear.
using a different tool for small number on seconds clock face.
Move a number of tabs and parts to better places this will make the panel stronger and better in the post.
one cut on the wrong side of the line
added a recess or two to make thing line up easier.
A few missing parts (NCArcher Studying closely, will report back later)

    To be done
    Gcode panel 5
Cut test panels 4 and 5
cut all panel in correct ply
make and note all the brass and add cut outs to panels for transport of brass
How to build the clock instructions
    Build a clock
    Make it run,,,,,
    Fix bugs

And so it is....... but we will get there

I could have sworn they were all there
Tell me which parts are missing and I will see if I can't see them

Cut test panels 4 and 5 today see attached
I added a grove to the out side of the clock face, see it on clock face parts 7-9, it cut well on panel 4 but chipped on panel 5. I thought it was a bit close to the edge will have to move it in a mm, maybe cut these a little slower.
I tested how some of the gears and pinons fit together ,..worked well
When there together it leaves a clearance space between the two gears.(hence the knife)
The last pic is the pendulum.... not happy with this one. Might be the ply and has made the joints soft and there a lot of movement in them. The joints in my early clock was very stiff

One part has been forgotten.... the nob to adjust the bob

    Hi
Final got to cut some real parts.
Stuffed up on the brass pockets some how the second calculation when making the brass parts was different to when I worked out the pockets in the ply,,...Work this one out when assemble this clock.
Spent some time on labeling the parts in each panel This will become part of the instructions ...Let me know what you think.

The panels stack up into a nice bundle. It's weight is about 1.5 kg and it will cost $17 to post to Perth, $12 to Melbourne.

One part has been forgotten.... the nob to adjust the bob....Yes forgot it again

It won't alter anything, but on the instruction sheets, all the pendulum parts are labelled as "pengulum". Exciting to see actual parts!
The other day I described to my daughter how to find something in the garage by saying "It's right near my big saw". A few minutes later she came back to ask: "Do you mean the black one, the green one, or the blue one?".

You could easily put the panels on the wall and call it art.
    Looking good.

Fantastic work Russell. You've done an excellent job of putting it together as a kit. NCArcher is right, it's a work of art.

It's going to be fun for anyone to put together and get working.

    Cheers

    Default proposed finish

    Hi All
What products do we have in Australia to finish plywood. In particular the edges to hide the fact that it is plywood. The minister for home affairs likes solid timber. I understand all too well the mechanical advantage of plywood.
I have high hopes to post photos of my Sextus grass hopper clock running this weekend.

    HI
    Some more now done
Parts cut out most still to be finished
gears sanded, I was some what lazy here made up a blade and table fitting it to a upturned jigsaw sanded the gears in a hour
Assembly the frame using the F jig to get frame spacing right. You do this once with the frame bare to make sure all is good then when you put the gears in.
Third gear assembly, this jig keep the two gear correct distance apart when putting in brass pins.
After putting the whole gear assembly together I was able to blow, with my mouth, the escapement wheel and the gear train freely rotated.
On the first run it took 350 gr to make the clock start to rotate and keep running (no rocker in place) By now it was late and my bed was calling.

    More to come

Amazing Russell. A real feat to design a clock from scratch.

    Nice Russell,
    So how does it run?
    Does it keep reasonable time?
How long did it take to assemble?
