Are you talking 'add clock mechanism/hands to wooden face', or the full on make a clock mechanism from wood? (links were just the first ones that came up as examples).

Really depends on the skills, tools and patience you have, and what you want to achieve!

There are a variety of styles of mechanism if you want to do just wooden clock faces, or you can go whole hog and create the entire thing from wood.

Places like Let's Make Time Clock Company (click on the link) sell clock parts to make virtually any clock you want, after that, it's only your imagination which will get in the way!

If you are after a simple wooden clock - then how about this one? - it only has 4 sets of teeth to cut.

Cliff, can you tell me where the illumination for night readings go on the log section clock please?

I like the idea of a clock ticking away and especially a chiming clock. However, most members of the family are totally against the idea, and only understand LCD clocks.

For all wooden clock makers, let us never forget that it was Harrison the wooden clock maker who discovered Longitude.

I goes around the other side of the Earth, you can try to follow it or you can go to bed & wait for it to come back in the morning.
