Grandfather Clock
Here is my latest clock.
Made from solid 'Fiddleback' Tasmanian Blackwood.
This clock stands 2.35mtrs tall x .65 mtr wide x .5mtr deep.
Hermle 8jewel,8day, triple chime ,cable movement.
The dial is see through so I put a light behind it so you can see the movement.I also put a light in the floor to shine up,to show the etched pendulum and weights.
Once again ,I drew up the plan to suit my customer's requirements.
I call this one my 'Masterpiece' as it is very stunning.

Nice one Taz
Getting up there in Height. Nice to see !
Do you find the Hermle cable drive better than the chain? or what was the reason for your Choise.

clock movement
Thank you all.Yes I put a lot of myself into making the clocks.
We went for the keywound cable movement, as my customer wanted the etched weight and pendulum.Chains would have taken away some of the look. Also ,having a chain movement on my personal clock,I appreciate the ease of winding up the weights, thus never needing to touch the brass in any way.
Cheers.Keep on keepping on.

Howdy Y'all,I can never really tell you exactly how long it took to make this clock as I made it out of work hours and from the time I got the 'Go ahead' until I delivered the clock was about 5 months.Yes many saturdays in the workshop. The lights are 10watts each, from Ikea, nothing too hot.I would never put a 50watt light in the case. Thanks again
