    Default Hermle clock movements

    G'day All,

I am about to buy a Hemle 451.053 clock movement. To purchase here in OZ it is about $780..........I can get one from the States for $420 (incl postage).

The only issue is that I don't know how to work out what gearing I need. DOes anybody know how I determine this?

    regards
    Anthony

    Default Hermle clock movements

    G'day Y'all
Hermle uses a 6 or 7 digit number code to designate whether it is spring, chain, or cable driven, the plate size, hammer arrangement, and the hand shaft length.
Hermle Pendulum Length Formulas & winding Hole Configurations.

I can find information on all of above but I cannot find anything on gearing. Could you be a little more specific about what you are looking for?
    Regards
    Joe

    G'day Joe,

Thanks for your reply, I think I have it worked out!

When I go to order the movement there are options for 55cm, 75cm, 85cm, 94cm and 104cm. I think it is referring to the pendulum length.

I just need to check the plans and find that out and I should be set (I hope).

    regards
    Anthony

    Default Hermle

A 451-053 movement is a chain driven ,Westminster Chime.
    Pendulum length is usually 94cm.
It is a narrow movement for Grandmother (Narrow case) clocks
Its a very nice clock work .

    Cheers
