    Default Mantle Clock

I picked up a couple of large logs from trees that had been cut down on a construction site and thought I might try my hand at making a Mantle clock combined with a bit of pyrography for decoration.
The logs were about 3 feet long and about 2 feet in diameter. I then used a chainsaw to cut them down into smaller sections that could be milled into boards at a later date after partial drying.

As I had purchased a pyrography pen at last years Timber & Woodworking Show I thought it might be a good idea to make the dial for the clock as a pyrography picture.

The next step was to cut some boards down to size on the Triton saw table

before milling them down to final thickness on a GMC Thicknesser.

Cut two side panels and decided to carve a type of rope edge along the front outer edges
