    Hello everybody

I've had a few days away from my clock. The creative juices have been elsewhere. Done a little bit of paper craft the last coupla days.

On the left is what's called the 'middle wheel'. On the right is the anchor attached to the 'fork' which will attach to the pendulum rod. On the far right is the escapement wheel.

These wheels are now in the frame. I have used pins and toothpicks for axles. Nothing is permanent yet. The photo on the left is the front view. You can see my lovely little anchor at the top. The right hand pic is the side view. You can get some idea of the meshing of the gears. The pendulum rod is at the left of the second pic. It has a hole at the end for the pendulum to hook onto.

I can turn the wheels with my fingers. I have to get everything running smoothly by adjusting the axle holes. I'm not too sure what I'm doing and not sure if the anchor works at all.

    'Tis looking good Yeebla.

Re the "Inclination": thanks for sourcing the pictures. Yes the rolling drum carries the weight to power the clock. The lead is actually enclosed and not as photographed in that model.
I have finally received some orders for the work I do and will have to concentrate on that for the moment.....the season has been really quiet and I am grateful for what I can get. To compound things we are heading off for a 3 month tour of the South Island in our motorhome at the end of January and the "Inclination" will have to await our return.

    Oh dear

Progress has not happened. I had a bit of a deadline for early December which passed. Then without a deadline, I haven't done ANY work on it. Other things have jumped in and grabbed my attention. So I need a deadline. I know, Hobbyhorse, that you are going away at the end of this month. So I'm setting a new deadline. Today is the 20th. By the 27th, I want to have made a LOT of progress. I think the trouble with me is that when I get close to finishing something, I get worried about how it's all going to turn out and avoid the issue completely by not working on it! So out with the paper, glue and scissors! Thanks H. for asking.

Yeebla ...no pressure but I am leaving on the 26th Jan and my last forum session will be on the 25th. That said, I will be very keen to see the completed article when I return. I do know where you are coming from re other work pressures. As you said earlier in this thread if your head is not in the right space it is not even worth trying to do anything on something as complicated as this.

    Cheers,
    Rhys

    Hello everybody

I've decided not to do any kind of a rush job on the clock. I'm just not in the mood and it would be a bit disrespectful to my little clock to work on it without enjoying it.

Hobbyhorse, good luck with your travels, should be lovely tootling along in your own hotel on wheels. Look after yourself. I guess you'll be back in about May. I think I sense a new deadline... All the best.
