Quintus by Woodentimes
I believe David is a member of these forums. He has a lovely range of clocks and offers the hardware for some of them. I thought it would make a lovely start to building clocks for myself seeing as I do not have all the required tools just yet. It's a good way to dip my toes so to speak and see if it's something I would really like to get into before I spend a lot of money on tools.
I understand I will need some tools to finish the clock from his complete kit. I have access to a drill press and have a bunch of hand tools and some small powered tools.
I placed my order for the Quintus earlier today. It's a small birthday gift to myself.
This is the clock I ordered: Quintus
Really looking forward to starting on it and from there hopefully building other clocks from plans.

Sextus Plans
I have finished Brian Laws clock No 10 and just bought the plans for Sextus. Really looking forward to starting it in about 2 weeks.
Sorry that I didnt do this first. Interesting how he uses collars to position the gears and the "couplings" to fit the wheels to the arbors.
Super enlightening are the videos on the woodentimes site. Wish I had known the gears are to rotate when blown on.
This will clock number 5. So far one success, one runs (sort of), two pretty ornaments.

Yeah, it's all about the friction. The less you have the better the clock runs. It really pays to take your time and get things right. So I'm learning...
I love the escapement of the Sextus. I'm sure I'll make it one day. Beautiful clock to look at. All the best with the build.
