slave clock
I bought a slave clock at auction,6.00 bucks. works face hands and glass rim. With no idea how they worked,I started with apparent age ,1900 +/minus. and decided six volt. A quick check showed me that the system worked. Now for a slave driver. A six volt dry cell, and an electric cheapo alarm clock. Kill the alarm. then gut the works from the case. then pull the hands ,leaving the sweep second hand. Go get more coffee. then make a foil switch. this done by taking two pieces of copper or brass, one foil thin and harden it to make it springy. fasten together with an insulater between. clip sweep second hand to make it a cam. set this all up so that one rev of the cam closes and then allows the switch to break the six volt circuit. this sends a shot of six volt to the clock works. allowing the hand to jump one second. Re do the missing paint and ink on the face and purchase a new glass. All can be placed in a case of your choice below or behind the slave. I did this because , the cost of a slave driver was very high ,like 70.00 bucks. and being an old seabee, my motto is ,Hell i can do that.!!!!!! I do not know how to send pictures, and havent any anyway. if you are confused ,hit me anytime . Bob

There are a lot of them wasting away in the ceiling of our building (Mitsubishi Engine Plant Lonsdale) four faces per unit, roughly 2 feet in diameter.
Now I know how to make them run if I so desire!

Only just found this one Lonesome Bob. I would like to see more on slave clocks. If you can do that, you can also learn how to put up pictures too.
Can we see more?Buzza.
