I have ordered digital plans couble of times - If I remember right, I got link where to download the plans after I had made the payment. So if you have made the payment and did not get the link - I think you should email to duckworks and tell that there is a problem with download.

Thanks Perttu, I did email them and DuckWorks does it a bit differently. They will email the plans to me-- later today, I believe.

I'm looking forward to a response from Mik to my other questions.

Some other questions:
Are the 6 liters of resin called for in the BOM used for gluing only, or for coating surfaces as well? I'm going to prime and paint, not coat with resin, because there is no epoxy here in Ecuador.

If you haven't heard by now I would contact Duckworks. If there is some sort of delay, for whatever reason I will send you the plans by email myself.

The 6litres is to do coating. So you could get away with about 1/3 that amount if you were careful, but would probably recommend half that amount to most first time builders - 3 litres.

Since I'll be using polyester resin for taping seams (with cloth), how much resin am I likely to need?

A litre. Half litre might be enough, but the cost difference is not usually much and makes sure you have enough. Don't be tempted to use the polyester resin for any coating apart from the glass. It has worse physical properties than marine paint when used without glass. Thin the first coat with acetone about 15 percent (not necessary with epoxy because epoxy chemically - molecular bonds - with the timber, whereas the polyester doesn't so you have to get it to go down into the cellulose tubes to get good bonding)

I can get 5.2mm ply here. Should I be using 9mm for any of the panels, or will this serve as well as the 6mm called for?

If the 5.2 is good quality it will be fine. Quality is more important than thickness in many ways if you want the boat to last a long time.

Has anyone moved the chine logs inside? On my kayak they are inside, looks nicer (this is the designer's page): http://www.smallboatforum.com/PDFfiles/Jozebote2.pdf

The chine logs are inside. The things you can see in the some of the profile views are the bottom skids.

Chine logs inside: good. Question I meant to ask: has anyone put the transom framing inside? That would look slick.

Howdy,

A number of people have put the bow transom framing on the inside.

It is fractionally easier to build with the framing on the outside, but not big obstruction if you flip it around.

Main thing it to allow enough overhang on the bottom cleat glued to the bow transom for the bevel.

That bottom cleat will have to be 19 x minimum 70mm with 40mm allowed to overhang the bow transom ply edge to provide for the very obtuse angle of the bevel.
