Default Today i finished my Eureka!

I had been slowly working at it since the 19th of january, and finally finished it today.
Its not perfect, and i was pressed for time, due to uni coming along to attack me with many assignments.

So there were a few runs that i neglected to sand back, and a couple of dodgy knocks and cuts. But for a first build with the space and resources i had i am absolutely stoked to say the least!

Id like to put up photos but im not the greatest at working it out... its a shame as i have photos from each day i worked on her (except i gota bit slack towards the end...)

Cant wait to get her on the water, should be this wednesday weather permitting, and if i can get some ratchet straps. will just strap her to the roof of the car (no racks yet)

    Congratulations!

    Pictures are necessary!

Go as if to reply to this post, scroll down the page just a bit to a box that says "attach files", there's a button in there that says "manage attachments."

Click this button, then browse for the pictures you want to upload, upload them, and that's it!

Very easy, you can do it right off your computer, you don't need to host them anywhere online.

Thanks, for the tip, i thought the only way i could upload was through hosting

yeah the first pic is the art i wanted to do, the second is a shot of the interior, and the third it a shot of her rear
If you like i can include all the photos from the build in this thread, does it matter if there is up to 70 photos?

    Congratulations Michael
Dont worry about the photos, just launch the boat and then send a photo of you with the big smile (or silly grin) you will have on you face.
That is great work, the boat and artwork in less than 3 months.
    Well done

Now that is a boat well worth stealing!

Though I don't think it would be as easily negotiable as a wide screen TV.

    Looks wonderful.

What did you do with the seats?

    hahaha thanks!
the seats are just cut to shape, and i went to my local clark rubber and picked up some non-slip rubber stuff, i tried to google it to see what its really called so i could find out what its made of and a suitable glue to glue it down, best i could come up with was "eco per" i still havnt glued it down yet...

i cut it to shape to match the curve on the seats, the same rubber stuff is on the bottom of her, and ill be putting some of it on the roof of the car when i go to take her to water.

which was going to be tomorrow, but its bloody raining, talking about raining on my parade...

    Very nice boat Michael. Welldone!

I quess the stuff on the seats and bottom is some kind of anti skid mat, like you sometimes use with a router?

Took her out on good friday, cut my foot on a submerged oyster, barnacle or bit of glass, got her out in the water and she started taking on water.

worked on her easter sunday and the monday that followed, and took her out today!
She still takes on water in the rear ballast tank but very slowly so im taking it as a good sign.

SO the first pic, racked up and ready to roll!
2nd - right after this one i nearly ended up on my #### in the water as the ramp was slippery
3rd - First flight of the day! Such a good feeling!
last - had her up on dry land, for those wondering the location is prince edward park on the woronora river in sydney

I had so many compliments from passerbys, one guy in a tinny said he saw it on the car on the friday and nearly crashed his car when he looked back to get a better look

    Thumbs up

    Hi MilKey,

She looks great in all the photos, well done, to see where the leak in the rear buoyancy chamber is coming from simply put her in the water upside down and hold the buoyancy chamber under water ( you may need someone else to help as it will probably take a bit of weight to do this ), where water gets in, bubbles should appear ( however slowly ), just like checking for a puncture in an inner tube !!!.

That is a beautiful boat! Congratulations. I love the name and the phrase you have on it too. I would have loved to have something like that on the rivers of Missouri (when I lived there), instead of the aluminum canoe I had. I didn't know that people made their own boats back then. We know better know though.

I was going to slowly put water into the tank and see where it comes out, i figured it cant to any more damage than what the water getting in does hahaha

That's the best way Michael. The method of holding a tyre under water and looking at the bubbles assumes that there is pressure inside the tyre so won't work for a boat.
