    Default Goat capsize testing

There are some great pictures of capsize testing a Goat on the yahoo group uk-hbbr. Nice to see her sitting down on her side with the mast horizontal, not too high.

It is well worth you joining the group so you can view these pictures, and it's a good home boat builders group as well.

    then just view new photos.

Hi Clint, I can add a link, but unless you are a Yahoo Group member you still cannot see the pics. Perhaps MIK can contact the builder to post here?

Would love to see these images.

What is keeping the sticks in when you go over?

Normally the sails are set - so the halyard and downhaul tension keep them in place.

There is also usually a fair bit of tension.

For a failsafe a saddle could be fitted to the mast and one on the deck and the mast lashed down. Alternatively a cleat of some kind could be used for one end.

It's a good point Mick, as the deck would be smashed if the mast came out of the step.
