I had considered responding in a way similar to Christophe, i.e. describing some of the nuance in the design that really elevates its performance. Truthfully, I think that's what the OP was trying to get at: what's the big deal about this flatiron? But I didn't feel comfortable sharing The Secret Sauce. I suppose once it's out there in the world (especially for as long as the GIS) it's not really a secret anymore. I do like the In Defense of Storer tone that the thread ended up taking; I'm happy to have added to that sentiment.
