I picked up hanging the oars under the forward gunwales from someone's photos somewhere. I use simple rope slings, and I like it a lot. The oars are easy to get out and stash, and stay out from under foot. I especially like whipping one out of the slings at the last second when docking to protect from imminent crash damage.

Just sent Paul a message ... he has got the sail area a little bit high!
It is a nicely built boat. And I think he repainted to sell.

Howdy,
If anyone knows of a USA Goat for sale - I have been contacted by a chap in Pennsylvania USA who is interested in buying one. Send me a PM.
I think everyone will know about the Facebook page for the gis too. It has some good conversations, but not the depth of articles and photos that this forum does. There are lots of links back to articles here ... a nice synergy.

No, but there was builder that moved to Pennsylvania with his half-finished GIS and then fell off the radar. I remember he had over-sanded his transom, cutting through a ply layer.
He had a blog and I recall posting a comment trying to encourage him not to give up. I can't find it anymore.Dave

On the Goat Island Skiff Facebook page some very nice photos have been put up recently.
I have committed to putting together a GIS Calendar if we get 12 or 13 good ones.
I will do it not for profit and sell at near cost price.
So you can either add a photo to the facebook page ... start the comment with the word ...
CALENDAR
or you can look at which ones have been posted already and just click "like" for the best three or four that you can see.
I will do minor edits on the pics to balance the exposure etc.
Best wishes
Michael

Someone add some of mine!
https://plus.google.com/photos/11602...04669880581121 The adventuring pics are nearer to the bottom of the page.
Remember, if you find a picture you like, click on it and click OPTIONS at the bottom of page, and download full size for best resolution.
Great idea Mik. I wanted to do this exact thing last year but the idea got shelved for some obscure reason.
(I particularly like the sunset one and one of the ones where I'm rowing around the breakers out on the outermost rim of Casco Bay. Like a boss.)

Hi Christophe ... if you have some favourites you can post them here and I will add them to the ones on the facebook page.
Anyone else who is facebook shy can post their favourite Goat pics here and I will put them on the facebook page.
You should be able to SEE the facebook page without joining and follow what happens.
Best wishes
Michael.

OK - the votes have all been cast. I've completed the tally, and will transmit to Mik, probably tomorrow. We sure did end up with a lovely bunch of images. Hard to pick between them.

Hi David,
Was there a lump in the data? A few images where there were were lots of votes then dropping off to very few votes?
