Handy Punt - Shedhand in Tassie builds the plans he won in a raffle.
Hey Michael, you've prolly forgotten me but I'm finally ready to build the punt (the plans I was given). And even better is I have a river at the bottom of my block (full of trouts) where i can test her out. So as soon as a get the necessary materiel I'll be into it. Been a long time but looking forward to it.
Cheers

Its a secret, I'm a bona fide hermit. But its in North East Tasmania in an old historic mining village. I live in one of trhe original miners huts by the river where the trout are plentiful and over pan size
I have a new Sony Digital Handycam (amazing thing about the size of a pack of cigs) so will video WIP and post occassionaly.
Cheers

If there are no pictures of the trout, it didn't happen.

Damn . Went into town to buy the plywood today. 6mm Gaboon Ply = blank looks. Can't buy 2500 x 1200 of anything in ply. Only 2400 x 1200. Suggestions anyone? If i can get 6mm Marine ply I'll use that and reduce the wight by using king billy pine in place of Oregon. Its a bugger living in Tassie sometimes.

Nup, I can't remember the blokes name but he gets some good stuff in for boat building.
My mate down there buys a bit from him from time to time, I'll get his details for you.Cliff.

Thanks Cliff.
This is the only ply Brewsters carry which is larger than 2440 x 1220. I wonder would it be ok to use? Its a fresh water river I will be using it in.
