Clint,
Wait!! You say.... what, now?? There's another Portland?? Boy... the things you miss, growing up in the hinterlands.
Seriously, it's too bad you can't make it.You could bring bugs, and we'd supply the smoked salmon. Did you know how Portland, Orygun got its name? The two visionaries who decided that Stumptown (which is what it was know as for a long time) was fated to become a major metropolis were (naturally enough) from the east. One was from Boston, and one from... Portland. They flipped a coin, and the Portlander won the right to name this drizzly wide spot after his home town.
Did Mik share with you yet the poster I made up to advertise his talk? I have it in MS Publisher, and as a pdf - if you want to crib from it.

Don't worry, Mik. Whichever one you turn up at... we'll send you to the other one
Thanks for the compliment. Sent both flyer versions to Chuck today. You really are a gentleman as well as a scholar. I guess that's why we get long so well... opposites attract and all that

Michael Storer's bag is too heavy. Will he have to ditch the vegemite? Even now he knows it may not be enough for part of the trip.
So Guys, comms will get a bit shaky from here on in, however I plan to see lots of interesting boaty and other things so will post a lot of pics and write about them for you to have a look at.
Would really appreciate it if the old hands would keep an eye out for new people on the forum in the gaps when I may have trouble getting connected.
Most gaps will just be glitches of one or two days, but there is one stretch where I am out of contact for almost a weeeeeeek.
Let me calculate .... that means about 45 important emails I have to answer when I get back to civilisation!!! Not to mention about 150 posts on the PDRacer forum and another 200 here.
But now I will check for anything important
Cheers to all
