Dylan is building two OZ PDRs in the Phils.
His building thread is here - it is quite interesting

He has his pics on here.
OZ PDRacer building photos
Just went 3D last weekend. All it took was one full weekend of cutting and parts preparations and the following weekend went ahead with assembly.

Hi everyone. I am new in this forum and just learning now to post and upload pictures. The first few pictures uploaded was done by Michael.
My boat is almost done as seen in recent pictures I uploaded. But before I proceed with rigging, I am not sure how to orient the bend of the mast... whether it should be installed with the mast bending forward or back. I am inclined to orient it facing forward so that when sail is tensioned with the sprit pole maximum tension is available

Howdy Dylan,
Answered you directly by email .. sorry about the delay.
For a slight bend I would probably choose for it to go forward as you suggest. It will make the sail a bit more powerful for the same snotter tension.
However if the boat was going to be sailed by someone very light a lot I would put it in the other way to reduce the power slightly.
Best wishes
Michael

Nice work Dylan. Congratulations.
The pool is really handy for a test. My pond is not big enoigh for something like this. It was good for a moodel boat though.
I thing the white sail really looks the best on this boat (a while ago a bought dark blue polytarp). White is unfortunately not available here in that size. The only way it could be done is to sew it together form smaller peaces which takes more work for someone who knows how to use sowing machine well (not me!!)

Koala, thank you. I had actually planned on launching last saturday at our local lake together with a bunch of rowdy pirates, but my son Gino who has been my loyal building assistant got sick so I had to postpone the launch. However, the itch to get her in the water was just too much that yesterday morning, with Gino already recovering and while Gino's mother was still asleep, we both snuck out of the house into the garage, manhadle the boat through our living room into the garden and finally into the pool. WHen the Admiral woke up both Gino and I were spared from world war 3 after she saw how beautiful the boat looked with the sail proudly flying. In fact the wify even helped me do some of the rigging.
Thanks Mik for the plans. It was such a joy to build. I am sure she will just be as wonderful to sail

I must say, without being too bias, that yellow is definitly the BEST colour for the PDR. Those photos are great!
