It is a really nice pic! One of the nicest building pics I have seen. Look at those reflections!

Yes, quite lovely. Another boat so bloody beautiful that she's only suited to hanging over the mantle

Thanks, gents. I had finally found the correct camera angle so as to cause all the imperfections to miraculously disappear!
It always amazes me how a surface appears and feels fair - until the shiny stuff
goes on. But as the saying goes, we're talkin' boats - not grand pianos!
Now I just want to get out before the harbor freezes over ...

David for a minute there I thought you were from Portland, Victoria, OZ not Portland Oregon hmmmmm............probably hanging around Mik too long.
BTW great job Peter, I like the colour and it is nice to get a great finish even when we know it's going to get banged up pretty quick ah well such is life.

Wait a minute there, cobber! Are you trying to imply that I remind you of an Aussie?
Well, at least you didn't stoop so low as to suggest that I might be from Adelaide
Though... to be serious for the briefest moment... if Mik is any representation of a typical Adeladian, I would be flattered. The reports that are now coming out from his Utah visit are saying the same as I did. He's a perfect house-guest, a brilliant conversationalist with a wide range of interests, the kindest soul you'll ever meet, a very knowledgeable boat-nerd, a good cook, and has a wicked sense of humor (though too subtle for the average American).

The Launch - Finally!
Here goes:
Trying the MIK standup move:
Not much wind:
Here's the first mate:
Very light airs but she still moved well - I was impressed with how close to the wind
I could get - very responsive yet she doesn't feel "twitchy" if that makes any sense!
I had to laugh at myself when at one point I noticed the end of the mainsheet dragging through the water - I had forgotten to tie a stopper knot in the end . Oops - so I grabbed the boom and pulled it toward me - off we went to the nearest shallow spot where I was able to re-thread the sheet and tie the knot.
I had to scull the tiller to get back to the launch ramp though - not a bit of
wind to speak of (weather shore, I guess you'd call it):
All in all, a grand day out !
Thanks MIK!
Can't wait 'till I take her out again ...
Cheers,
Peter

Howdy,
It looks great P!
That is the nice thing about a nicely set up boat whether it is big or small.
It just feels right and fun.
It represents all the effort you put into the rig, sails and foils.
Well done

Hey thanks, MIK and MAM.
I haven't been out since that first day; hopefully I can get back out again
before the ice floes appear .
MAM, I guess I deviated a little from the yellow, eh? Ended up with
Pettit Easypoxy 'Teal blue' , I think.
Cheers,
Peter

I sailed this boat yesterday. DPeter brought it to the talk and then to the little boating event we did after).
I can't overemphasise how beautifully made this boat is. The foils were up to full Olympic standard. Very very gorgeous.
It was a tricky sailing spot and the boat managed to get off a lee shore with a bunch of different sailors at different times.
