Pintles, gudgeons for PDR
What size is everyone using for their pintles and gudgeons on the PDRs? I'm thinking with the framing on the outside of the rudderbox it needs to be about 2" or about 50mm?

Add it up - 25+4+4+12+12. You can cut the outside reinforcements 12 +12 down to 8 + 8 if you like. Not too much less.
So that gives you um, 49mm

Actually my measurements would be 25+5.2+5.2+12+12=59.4 since 4mm ply isn't readily available in my area.
59.4 or (assuming 8mm frames) 51.4 at my minimum and the plans have 42mm as the ultimate minimum.
That's a broad range and I didn't think it was that dumb a question...

Howdy Paul,
No such thing as a dumb question. Problem is that there are so many different fittings both available and unavailable at the different locations around the world.
Same with ply thicknesses of course. Main thing is either to find out what is available locally or through mail or internet order such as through Duckworks or Duckflat or Westmarine etc
Best wishes
Michael
