Yes it's the Oktoberfest in Munich and the Cannstatter Volksfest in Stuttgart. At €9.00 ($12.00 U.S.) for a litre of beer we are definitely steering clear. I can buy a crate (12 half litre bottles) of very good German beer for €12. For the young it's fun but it's really just money making madness. Then again I could also spend the money on some more boat building material Or a new bedroom floor .
Cheers,
Kev.

At Last.
I've had a few goes at finishing the foils but it's one of those jobs that "nearly" is not good enough. I got the last side down to shaped with a coarse finish yesterday and spent a couple of hours yesterday and six hours today getting them sanded down ready for some epoxy. Many years ago I shaped quite a few surfboards and shaping the foils isn't that much different except the boards were shaped by eye. Definitely a satisfying job. My neighbour was fascinated by the whole process and has been ducking in and out to see the progress. I'll try and epoxy the tips tomorrow and maybe start the rudder case so I don't waste too much epoxy.
Cheers,
Kev.
And drinking Pils, not weizen.

I've just seen my last post was on the 28th Sept 2013 and that was about the last time I worked on the Goose until a couple of weeks ago. There's so much that can get in the way of boat building. It should be banned.

I glassed the the rudder foil a couple of weeks ago and I spent today trying to get my head around the rudder box and tiller. After not doing much with wood in the last couple of years I#m fumbling around like a man with five thumbs.
It's good to see you're still around Dave and Steve.
