    Hi folks,
Have a look at that URL : http://intheboatshed.net/ (Gavin Atkin) Good site by the way.
There is a plan set for a rowing skiff, called Julie, that is almost similar to Storer's rowboat one !!!????
It seems that the bottom is larger though...

When Gavin posted his Julie design on a UK home boat builders yahoo site I actually e-mailed him with a link to Michael's Rowboat. He seemed quite surprised at their similarity - sure MIk will be here in a while explaining just how many subtle differences there are. Brian

Thanks for chasing it up with Gavin.

Gavin is a top chap ... maybe there is some Storer influence there.

There are not a lot of options with this type of boat so all designs are likely to be similar. My feeling is that I have pushed mine about as far as possible for a single person who still might want to carry another occasionally. I think Gavins would carry two people a bit better than mine but mine will have much less wetted surface.

However ... I do think I have been a bit clever to get the boat to balance ok with a second person on the front of the rear sea and the rower on the mid rowing seat .. single handed position is at the back of the mid rowing seat.

That was my main criteria and it is difficult to do ... I don't really know how well it has worked out until some get finished and in the water.

And I guess my main marketing advantage is the "boatbuildng course in a plan" which guides people through all the steps of using these materials.
