    Wink Australian Tiger wood

    Hey, does anyone on the forum know anything about Australian Tiger wood?

    Chucked some through the thicknesser today - it looks pretty!!

    Looks nice... did a google search for my own interest and found a lot of hits on Tiger Woods. Tigerwood only gave one hit before going back to Tiger Woods. Looks like it could be one of the Casuarina's (or Banksia/Hakea...)
    It's only a mistake if you don't learn from it.

    Cut pretty easy and planed easy, weighed a few sticks and it's around 25-27kg for a 3.0 100x75. Ran the router over them to aris the corners and no splintering issues??

    Anyone else got some info?

    Grumpy, I was hoping this would last a bit longer, but I suppose all things have to come to an end...

    Mongrell was spot on, it's not tigerwood, I made the name up after seeing how pretty it looked, it's just Tallowwood with fiddleback admittedly really nice fiddleback. Really makes dressing the posts worthwhile
