Thread: Careful wot you ask for

Bear with me.

An irish man went up to the door of a very big house and asked the lady of said house if there was a job he could do because he was starving and desperate to earn some money to live, no charity, just a way of earning his living.

The lady thought for a while and said that there was a job that needed doing and he could earn some cash. He thanked her almost on his knees and asked what it was. She said that there was a portch at the back of the house that needed repainting and there was a couple of pots of the paint and some brushes in the shed in the garden.

Off went the man and she settled down to her posh cuppa and book.

About an hour later the guy rang the bell again and she went to the door to see him standing there, a bit paint splattered. He said well, that's the job done lady. She was surpised, said that he was obviously a quick worker, thanked him very much and paid him.

He doffed his cap and as he was leaving he turned, thanked her very much for his generous payment and said "Pardon me lady, but it's not a Portch you have round de back, it's a Mercedes!

The point is his story. you ask someone, a bleedin forigner, to knock yer outhouse down and what do you get when a Russian tries to tell a Polskie in French??
