Default European drug addicts first time in Australia

    G'Day to all,
Just small joke/anecdote about first visit to Australia of two European drug addicted men ...

When these two drug addicted men came out from the Sydney Airport one tells to other:

    - Hey, look around us! If here live such big grasshoppers (points out to kangaroo) what height marijuana has here?

Judging from woodhut's reply it's obvious that there are worse jokes around.

Sniko I wouldn't worry about the roos. It's the bloody drop bears that cause all the grief. They drop out of trees onto you because they are as dry as a dead dingo's donger!

Clearly there are a few issues with the joke's logic and function!

Yes, jokes often don't transfer well from one language or culture to another, but you can't knock the guy for having a go. Just because kangaroos are all over the place here doesn't mean others, who don't have them, shouldn't find them pretty exotic. They are a bit odd after all.

Sniko. No offence intended by my post. I reckon if I can ever make a joke in your language it will be a great occasion. Of course, some members think if I can ever make a joke in English it will be memorable.
Cracking a funny in another language is the supreme test. Years ago I lived and worked in the Netherlands where most Dutch people put us to shame with their use of other languages. In our local bar in Den Haag, we used to get the odd English football supporter or sex tourist. One evening we had such a visitor who sat at the bar and criticized the beer then decided to have a bar meal. Big Willi, the Dutch bartender took his order for a steak sandwich and asked if he wanted a salad with it and the bloke said no way. "It's very good for the eyes," said Willi. "Bloody rabbit food!" said the Pom. "So," says Willi. "When was the last time you saw a rabbit wearing glasses?"
