Footballer's problems
Eddie McGuire, Collingwood Football Club President, flies to Baghdad to
watch a young Iraqi play Aussie Rules, is most impressed with him, and
arranges for him to come to Collingwood.
The youngster adapts to training quickly and he gets to play his first game.
With only ten minutes left Collingwood are trailing Carlton by six goals so
the coach brings on the youngster who is a sensation kicking seven goals
and they win the game.
As soon as the youngster finishes his game he rings his mother and tells
her the fans love him, the media adores him and the coach is very happy
with him.
Mum replied, " Wonderful, let me tell you about my day. Your father got
shot in the street and was robbed, your sister and I were ambushed
and beaten coming out of a store, your brother has joined a band of
looters and all while you were having a good time".
He answered, "What can I say Mum, I'm very sorry for you all".
"Sorry? You're sorry?" said his mum, "It's your fault that we moved
to Collingwood in the first place".
