Default Which footy code is it??

My daughter sent me this today

NRL stands for National Rugby League and AFL stands for Australian Football League
Does the following apply to the

    NRL OR AFL?

    36

have been accused of spousal abuse

    7

    have been arrested for fraud

    19

have been accused of writing bad cheques

    117

have directly or indirectly bankrupted at least 2 businesses

    3

    have done time for assault

    71,
    repeat
    71
    cannot
get a credit card due to bad credit

    14

have been arrested on drug-related charges

    8

    have been arrested for shoplifting

    21
    currently

    are defendants in lawsuits and

    84
have been arrested for drunk driving

    in the last year

Can you guess which organization this is? AFL? NRL?

    Neither, it's the 535
    members of
    the AUSTRALIAN PARLIAMENT IN CANBERRA

The same group of Idiots that crank out hundreds of new laws each year, designed to keep the rest of us in line.

Not sure that there are 535 Senators and members of the House of Reps.

    There are 150 MHRs (http://www.aph.gov.au/house/index.htm) and 76 senators (http://www.aph.gov.au/Senate/pubs/briefs/brief01.htm)

    Total = 226

Looks to me like a dinkumisation of something originally composed about the US Congress (which has many more congressmen and fewer senators per State)

Calm, that one has been doing the Internet rounds
    for a while.

I suspect it is an adaptation from one originating from
another English speaking country in the northern
    hemisphere.

If true, it is scary, where ever it comes from.
