    Default Modern Technology and language

I am not against modern technology but somewhere, somehow terminology and correct adaption must come into being.

    WHERE CAN I SHOP NOW?

When I was ready to check out and pay for my groceries the cashier said, "Strip down, facing me."

Making a mental note so I could complain to my local MP about this running amok security rubbish, I did just as she had instructed.

After the shrieking and hysterical remarks finally subsided, I found out that she was referring to how I should position my credit card.

Nonetheless, I've been asked to shop elsewhere in the future.

They need to make their instructions a little clearer for seniors. Man I hate this getting older stuff.

She should have given you credit for doing what
    you were told.

That reminds me of what customers used to say to me when I was operating a concrete garden edging business quite a while ago now.

When I gave someone a quote they would often try bargaining for a discount. Some would ask "what would you take off for cash?"

To which I would reply "everything except my wrist-watch."
I got sick of sitting around doing nothing - so I took up meditation.

Like when doing bus service run and constantly asked " How longs the next bus" to which I and many would reply "36ft same as this one".

My girlfriend was buying an ethernet cable from Dick Smiths.

The salesman asked "how long do you want it"

I couldn't help myself, could I? "Actually she wants to keep it"

Its all in the way theu ask.

Years ago getting a Chriisie present for wifey I was at Myers and go up to desk.....
"good afternoon, nice present, would you like it wrapped?"
    "yes please'

    later...
"that will be $55.95 would you like to charge that?"
    "yes please.."

bing bang etc with register... "Can I have your card please"
    "What card?"
"Your credit card, you said yourd like to charge it."

"Yes I would... but I dont have a credit card."

Stunned look of surprise, confusion etc. typical dumb blonde look

"What! you said yourd like to charge this!"

you can see where this is heading, we finished up with supervisor, floor manager all trying to get card off me that I didnt have or own. Was finally escorted off by security but I had the wrapped package under my arm..
Maybe not the most honest thing to do but hey they ask the questions I only answred them.
I would love to grow my own food, but I can not find bacon seeds

My favorite one is the big green shed...."Do you want a hand?"

My replies depending on my judgement of the mental capacity of the one asking

1: No thanks, already got two
    or

2: I would look weird with three
    or

3: Didn't realize I'd lost one (while looking with absolute shock at both my arms)

The other one is at Coles when they ask "Fly buy's

    Me: usually plane
The person who never made a mistake never made anything

    Cheers
    Ray

The other one we ALL do here (those of us born here).

Is when a negative is in the question, we ignore it for some reason.

When you get something yucky we come out with "Your not going to eat that are you?" and we all answer with "NO"
So now we get something yucky and ask "Your going to eat that are you?" and the answer is still "NO".

    It can't be both,
The answer to the first question should be YES if you are not going to eat it.

I was in asia and asked someone the first question about a plate of eyeballs or something else just as bad.
And I got the No answer thinking now that they would not eat it, and then they started eating.
Now they actually answered correctly, the answer was NO to NOT eating it.

Its the double negative gives you a positive.
How would we go is we started answering question like this properly.
