The local priest delivered his service and when he finished he went to get his bike to ride home and found it was missing assumed stolen.
This was somewhat perturbing and he approached his friend, another priest and asked what he should do.
It was suggested that at the sermon the following week he should preach the ten commandments and put particular emphasise upon 'thou shalt not steal' as this would bother the conscious of the perpetrator of the horrific crime.
The plan was followed as directed.
The week after this the priest was riding his bike through town and ran into his friend who offered the advice. He was asked if he followed the advice and the priest replied he did. "Though shalt not steal bothered a conscious?' the friend enquired, 'No' replied the priest, 'I got to though shalt not commit adultery and I remembered where I left my bike'.
