Hehehe... definitely a pollie thing. I'm sure there's lots of other floccipoccinihilipilificators out there, though (e.g. bosses, wives,...).

I must confess that the clue was a trick question. The word is one of those little (?) gems of which the explanation/definition is probably shorter than the word itself.
The definition is 'To render useless' eg:Melbourne Public Transport.
Politicians are useless before entering the field, I think it is a pre requisite, however, they have the opposite of the Midas touch, anything they touch is rendered useless.

And THIS is just a little useless information on Floccipoccinihilipilification.

An alternative definition (at least according to my dictionary) is "to assess as useless" - hence my 2.2 cents above.

That must be where the good old ozzie term "poxy" comes from, makes sense.

Who is reponsible for the English language I ask! We have big long words like "Floccipoccinihilipilification" and then get told they are pronounced "flox-ee-pox-ee-ni-hi-li-pi-li-fi-cay-shun", why cant they just spell them like that in the first place!
