Default what are they made of?

Here's a classic from the Big Green Shed.

Have a look at the the product dimensions (blue arrow)

If that isn't bad enough look at the red arrow. Thats 20kg per scroll saw blade. Must be made out of the same stuff as black holes.

I was told today by a Bunnings Supervisor that there are no errors on their website and just by chance I found this one after I got home. (no, I'm not buying scroll saw blades from Bunnings)

I got sick of sitting around doing nothing - so I took up meditation.

    They never make mistakes

A few years ago I needed to buy some acetone. On the shelf were 1L and 2L bottles, but the 2L bottles were 5c cheaper than the 1L bottles After several hours of patient tracking I managed to capture a “team member” who confirmed that the prices were correct. I couldn’t help myself and pointed out the rather obvious fact that there had to be an issue with the pricing but it immediately adopted its Expert persona and assured me that it was all down to unit pricing and economies of scale…

    perhaps not.
the 1 litre bottles will have similar if not greater handling costs, compared to the 2 litre bottles.
a staff member can place 2 x 2 litre bottles on the shelf at a time. One in each hand.
same staff member 2 x 1 litre bottles -- again one in each hand -- but placing 4 x 1 litre bottles requires twice the labour.

which leads to the supposition that the acetone bulk price is slightly less than the 1 x the labour cost.

    Alternatively, it's bait pricing.
Bunnings price the 2 litre bottles of acetone on the basis that they [Bunnings] know that their typical customer will buy the 2 litre bottle (after all it's 5 cents cheaper) and allow over a litre to evaporate. Chic-ching! Bunnings get to sell a second 2 litre bottle.
