    Default Another 6040 question

    Hello everyone
I've been looking on other different forums & I've read that there has been issues with the Cabling to the stepper motors with the wire breaking
Wondering from those who have or have heard about them if this is a common thing
    Thank you fou any feedback
    Cheers Tony

I'd heard similar reports so when I added the stepper motor covers, I replaced the cable with this stuff from Jaycar.

    Geoff
    Thanks for the reply
Sounds like I would be best to follow suit,
Dumb question time/ when you fitted the end covers, you replaced the connectors? What type did you use? And the connectors at the controller did you recycle them or replace
    Them?
    Cheers Tony

    Tony,
The motor covers came with 4 pin connectors and plugs. As I'm going to use a Gecko G540 to drive the machine, I fitted 9 pin plugs to the other end of the cable.

ive got the 4565 from china ,

and yes the Z axis went first ( about 8 hours ) and the Y axis broke after about 12 hours of running

been running fine since i replaced it 4 core wire from Jacar ,i could probably find some wire better , rated for bending than the wire i used , but it has stood up too over 100 hours so far with out a problem ,

i used the MOLEX 4 pin plugs ( PC hard drive plugs ( old) ) and heat shrinked them
how come a 10mm peg dont fit in a 10mm hole

Ausxmods have good cable, at a reasonable price. I used it on my steppers, and spindle (800wt).
