    Default ATC the Hornberger way

    I thought a geneva mechanism rotating tool changer might be challenging to build and program, but our friend Marius Hornberger levels it up and takes auto tool changing to dizzy heights.

    Marius and Jerry Schmidt are stand out in their innovation but unfortunately Jerry has health problems and rarely does videos these days.

    Can confirm once you have an ATC you will never want to go back... I am just about to sell my working CNC router with a 12 position rotary ATC for a non working CNC router with no ATC

    ATC = Automatic Tool Changer.

    What gives? You imply that you are going backwards, but I don't buy that one. Suspect major upgrade of the CNC with and ATC to follow?

    I have two CNC's, the one I am getting rid of is far too large for my needs and I need the space. The other one is a 1200*2400 Multicam Aus machine which is not currently working and has no ATC. Plan is to retrofit the Multicam with a new controller and linux CNC. Eventually I will add a linear tool changer similar to the one Marius built.

    Marius is one of my regular go to people, he is at a level that people only dream of reaching. There is a very succinct comment he makes during the video that gives an insight to his psychic and his approach to tasks.

    I just watched his video, excellent as always, but he has really stepped it up for this one.

    I would love to have the skills to get into CNC, but as a person that finds sending an email technically challenging, I doubt I would ever be able to run one, let alone go to the lengths Marius has.

    Cheers Andrew
