Yes, I have the 4x4 pro, which is the same machine, only shorter (don't say dwarf - that's politically incorrect now).

No issues with customs - you pays your money, and they buy doughnuts.

The 8.4kw spindle needs 3 phase power. It will run on single phase (you need a 30A circuit, which I think in this over-regulated butt-end of the earth country means it has to be hard-wired), but you give up around 30% of the power. Makes sense in a production environment, but I'm not sure that it's necessary for smaller scale working.

If you get Avid's plug & pray controller, it'll come with yank NEMA-style connectors, so you'll probably need a tame sparky to convert it into an Aussie.

Minor issues, all easily solvable with a bit more $, or a carton of beer...

8.5 kw sounds like mega overkill; the CNC at my old work was only 5.5kw and I never ran out of power, even when running a 12mm bit through 32mm ply

My 2.2kw spindle can take a pretty scary cut.

8.5kw is serious power. Want to be sure your work holding is good....

I used to operate an industrial 2400 x 1800 bed machine with an 8KW spindle cutting kitchens etc, plus some plastic and ali. 800W AC servo motors on the table for feeds, never used more than about 3KW as a peak spindle power according to the power monitor on the system, so I doubt that you would ever need 8KW on a router, main thing that would multiply power requirements to that range would be deeper cuts at very high feeds and that would challenge your dust collection very significantly. We ran compression cutting bits to 50mm depth, with 2 x 10KW vacuum pumps for the vac table and another for the dusty with 150mm hose and tube from the shoe to the outlet, and were generally limited by removal capacity rather than spindle power. For a stepper powered unit, I suspect that a 2.5KW spindle would be plenty, given that you are basically locked into 1/2inch or smaller shanked bits.
