    Default Bad news, good news, and needed advice

    Hello all

    Im am in need of some assistance and advice.

    Unfortunately I had a fire in my workshop this past weekend. Thankfully no one was hurt, but I did lose a few tools. Most noteably my cnc router.

    The good part of this story is that my insurance is replacing it.

    It was a 48 x 48 router, and they have agreed to replace the unit with a unit of similar nature. I havent shopped routers in a while and was looking for suggestions on which units to consider. It would have to have the 48 x 48 table.

    Sorry to hear about the fire, but at least everyone is safe.

    If you were in Oz I'd recommend Multicam, but I have no idea what options are available in the US for small routers and the "big three" (Weeke, Biesse and SCM) don't go smaller than 8' x 4'

    Hard to know what level of router you are replacing and more importantly what level of router the insurance is willing to pay for.

    Looking back through your posts on this forum I see you had a home built router.

    If the insurance will come to the party, I would look at Camaster CNC Routers & Plasma Cutters | CAMaster


    EDIT: Looked at the video posted above. Looks like a decent machine. Not a fan of the DSP controller or the water cooled spindle but that is only my personal preferences.
