So far three Gezawa, Warrick and Chris. I take it that White Cedar is not attending as the distance is a bit far. Sorry I don't intend to make a DVD or stream it over the net.
So we can set a date how does 27th May fit in with everyone? - subject to a few more takers.Cheers,
Rod

Hi Rod
Whilst I've had a CNC machine for a while, I still consider myself a novice so, if it doesn't mean someone else misses out, I'd like to be involved, even if only to help out during the day.
If you have too many takers though, I'll stand aside.
Cheers
Geoff

Hi Rod,
I that's ok with you, I would like to attend as well and that would be four of us + yourself. 27 May sould be ok, in June I'll be away.
I'm currently upgrading my transport damaged China 6040 with a new VFD to spindle shielded cable, wider drag chain, new stepper cables and G540/SmoothStepper combo.
Regards,
Zvon

Zvon and Geoff makes it five. Sorry I missed you Zvon in the first list.
I'm sure a sixth will nominate before the date so the day is set for the 27th which should give enough time to make travel arrangements.
Format will be instruction and hands on computer design for the morning and early afternoon then on to a machine to make the projects.
I have four computers so if anyone can bring a laptop that will mean less sharing. I can load the software on the day but it will have to be removed before leaving.Cheers,
Rod

And BT makes six so the numbers are there and unless we have a withdrawal the session is closed.
Cheers,

Hey Rod,
Because it's a special occasion, I suppose you'll dress up and be wearing shoes. S'pose I'll have to as well.

Hi Rod,
I can bring a laptop with licensed Mach3 no problems and G540/Smoothstepper combo in a Soigenerix STDR-4C box if you wish.

Thanks Chirs,
I'll send you a PM.
Zvon,
Laptop is good. We can have a show and tell if you want to bring anything along.
BT,
This is an introduction and will not involve anything about mumbo jumbo electronics or making and setting up a machine. It will explain how CNC works and then creating a project and finally cutting it on a machine.
Similar to buying a Chinese Machine and first making something with it.
You have seen it done already only this time you will be hands on with a younger but uglier bloke looking over your shoulder.
Not sure about shoes - it is a Sunday.Cheers,
Rod

Time flies and I have one day left to set up and get ready for tomorrow.
A lot happens in a couple of weeks and I have sold the machine I was going to use for practical exercises. The buyer has kindly let me keep it for tomorrow but I can't let everyone loose operating it so will limit it's use to a couple of demos I will run.
The contingency plan is I have a 4030 Chinese machine that can be used by all and sundry to play with. It is not as easy to use as the sold machine but is a good starter for CNC.
There is very good support from the CNC community in Perth and models have been dropped off by others for viewing. Thanks to those that have contributed. Thanks also to Len for supplying the name tag clips and Geoff for helping me cut and glue them.
It should be a good day and I promise to keep my talks short and concentrate more on using the machines.Cheers,
Rod
