Default Can this be used for a CNC

As I know absolutely nothing about CNC machines I thought I would ask here, could the mechanism from a Skill tester (you know the claw thing from the arcades with the stuffed toys) be used as a basis of a CNC machine ???

    warrick,

can you tell a bit more about the dimensions? From looking at the picture the frame looks a bit bend and a little thin around the edges.

If you want to get into CNC there are some wooden frame CNC designs out there that are fairly easy to make.

The easiest answer is YES it could be used fro a basic CNC machine but I would think the accuracy would not be the best looking at the slack in the chains.

With some design changes and components from this I beleive you could make a CNC machine that would be quite good.
