CNC Carving Ornamental Relief
My work is involved with the CAD-CAM of CNC carving.
The size of this sample is 200X200mm, red Mahagony wood, 1.5 hours of roughing and finishing
, and the final touch-up by hand with skilled worker.
I like to know others involved with this kind of work and business, and to share our experience, etc.Thank you.

Welcome to the forum kkilst,
Wonderful work you are doing. Is it your own design?
There are a few of us doing 3D carving but none that I know of doing it for a business. Our machines are a hobby mostly. It look like you might be machining on a mill or does that handwheel belong to another machine.
Myself I use Vectric Aspire as the deisgn software but I am new to it and still learning.
Hope you have lots more of your work to show us.Cheers,
Rod

CNC Carving Ornamental Relief
Hi Rod,
It is nice to know we have friends sharing the same hobby and passion in this field.
No, it is picture from customer, from where we create the 3-D CAD data.
Being not be able to purchase expensive router, we take the effort of making it ourself.
Handwheel partly shown in the picture is for holding round or circular part,
using the 4Th. axis rotary CNC controlled, example is this Merlion sculpture.
My work is part hobby and part business, I do works based on customer requirements,
from interior design, furniture, pattern for iron ornamental design, hotel signs, etc.
I guess your location in Australia? Which part?

CNC Carving Ornamental Relief
Thank you all.
I am using normal 3-axes CNC router for cutting this relief, and I will try to take
snapshot of the machine next week to be posted.
With the modern PC processor, it is now must faster to process the CAD and CAM
data from various software available on the market. Machine can speed up this carving process, manual carving will take a few days. The result from the machine, the pattern of relief is perfectly symmetry and consistent. Final touch-up by hand is using V-shape tool. Combination of machine and hand produce good workpiece.
Thank you.
