Default CNC kit for HM52 mill?

Does anyone know if there is a "ready to install" CNC kit commercially available for the HM52 milling machines?
I was asked this by a friend who has a specialist plastics manufacturing business. He uses a CNC router extensively but want to convert his milling machine for larger parts. He is not an enthusiast machine builder like some of us, he just wants to get work done... understandably.

    Any suggestions or sources?

    Cheers,
    Joe

    Hi Joe,

Since I'm part way through just such a conversion, I can offer the following advice.

First, I'd replace all the lead screws with ball screws, not something I'd imagine you would get in a kit, but you never know.

Second, there's the difficulty in converting the Z axis, and whether to drive the quill or the knee, neither is entirely satisfactory, but I'm hoping that with a fair bit of modification to the HM52 I can make the quill option work.

Conclusion, is don't do it... look for a mill that already has ball screws, for example like the King Rich, some of their models offer ballscrews as an option. Some also already have provision for mounting servos etc..
