    Default CNC Machining

I am trying to find out where I can get a small 3D CNC machining job done around Brisbane.

The requirement is to establish a method of efficiently producing a boat half-model to be mounted on a plaque as a trophy. The example I am working on is approx 340mm x 85mm x 40mm, but could be scaled to a smaller size if necessary.

I can provide the design (drawing attached) as a IGS or DXF file and possibly some others formats if preferred. I don't know much about different CAD file types so would need clear specification as to what was required.

I can provide the wood and am happy to do the fine finishing and mounting. I'm just looking for an efficient way to get the block milled to the required shape. Once we establish a way to get this done we will probably have an ongoing demand to repeat the process either with the same file, or a different one.

Any helpful suggestions would be appreciated.
    Cheers,

    J

Not sure who in Brisvegas could do this for you.

Looks like the part will need 3D machining. e.g. do one side then flip it over to do the other. So STL file format is one 3D option that a lot of programs can use.

The rudder would be tricky with the undercut required so that would perhaps need to be a seperate part.

I only need to produce one side. It's just that the boat design software I used shows both sides.

It would be easy enough to modify the design to exclude the rudder, then add that later.

The idea is to and up with a trophy something like the attached picture.

ahhh, now I see what you are after. It should be a fairly simple piece to make, including the rudder

I can do this on my machine.
I have done some half models and full models and can accommodate from small to 3000mm as either male or female moulds.
The machine is at Clontarf on the northside.
    Will PM you further details.
