CNC Newbie
I saw an ad for a Shark CNC SD100 on sale for $999.
I know nothing about CNC, but I liked the price. I did a small amount of research and found someone on Lumberjocks compare an XCarve to a CNC Shark HD3. I’m not sure they even make the HD3 any longer, but he made the Shark sound very good to me.
So my question is, is the Shark SD100 newer/better than the HD3?
I also noticed a Pirahana CNC but not sure who makes it or if it’s better than the SD100?
I also noticed that Shark makes an SD120, 150, etc , but didn’t notice a price. I am willing to spend up to $2000, but I’d like to spend as little as possible, but don’t want a machine that has me wishing for more features.
Please give me your honest opinion on which direction I should head, or just tell me I’m wasting my time wanting something for nothing.
Thanks,
Jim
