i went with a water proof limit switch because of the carbon dust ill have , but found some at a good price $10.30, still listed , the only falt i can see in them is that they have a plastic wheel on the arm , due to the play in the wheel i will be changing them over for metal bearings ,
these are the ones i got in the post last week

Hi John,
I have used these on a number of machines and had no problems. I think Greg pointed me to them many years ago now.
I mount them on the moving elements and have the stops on the fixed parts. This way you only need half the number you would the other way around. You can use the limits as homing switches as well because Mach3 is smart enough to know what is moving in what direction. Homing on a dual axis machine straightens the gantry.
Make your stops adjustable and ramped with a landing so the switch doesn't fall off the back of the stop.
On Z axis I only use a limit on the top as the cutter length varies so the bottom limit is forever changing.Cheers,
Rod

I finished of the Z/Y setup and I though it was about time I pulled out the box out electricery things that has been sitting under the router for about 12 Months.
I have a Peter Homann MB-02 BoB and DC-03 Digispeed along with 4 Gecko 251's. The VFD and some shielded cable and a 48v Power supply. I spent a little while looking at everything, wondering where to start.
I realised I needed some wire for the stepper motors and a 5v power supply (I thought I had one somewhere ). So I put in a quick order to homanndesigns.com. Plus I'm still waiting on some limit switches, so that was a good excuse to down tools for now.

I made a start on wiring everything up. I mounted the Geckos on a heatsink and put a 80mm fan on the end.
The fan is 12v and I could run it off 5v but I'm not sure if it's pushing enough air. Perhaps I can wire 4 fans up in series and run it off the 48v rail? Or is that going to impact on the supply to the geckos?
I'm trying to workout how to wire up the DC-03 Digispeed to my VFD. I've attached an image that was supplied to indicate the pins. But I'm having problems matching that up with the Digispeed diagram http://www.homanndesigns.com/EN009_V2_3.pdf

John,
I wrote a full integration procedure for this some time back
I have attached it again for you to see how to integrate the DC-03 with a Huanyang spindle.
Should be the same if your using other units
You will need to refer to configuration 2
